London to Milan

An eye wateringly early 4:30 am start to Heathrow for our 7:30 flight to Milan.

Brilliant clear views of snow covered alps from the plane and once again framing the landscape once we arrived in Milan directly on tarmac alongside all the (other 😜) private jets.

Collecting the rent a car was drama filled which is part of for the course arriving anywhere in Italy it seems .

Once we got going though we had a few hours to kill before checking in , so we drove to Como to have a look around.

What a gorgeous lakeside town and the Christmas decorations and markets were a super treat.

Walked along the waterfront to catch the Funiculare (cable car) up to Brunate . Absolutely amazing views from the top and rising the 130 year old cable car was very cool too.

Headed back to Milan through lots of traffic and spent about an hour going around in circles before we worked out where Coeso Garibaldi and our accom was ! We’re staying in the Brera area – lovely streets with heaps of great shops. Settled in to our fab apartment and then went out for dinner.

“Ancient grains” polenta and pastas with chingalle, eggplant and mushroom deliciousness!
