Day 1 in Milan saw us sleep in and then set off towards the Duomo!
First impressions from a block away stunned Sebastian who didn’t think it could be real – “that’s not a church, it looks like a fairytale castle”.
First examined the spectacular exterior reliefs but we shocked by what sounded like gunshots !!! Turns out it was just a confetti gun set off to disturb the hundreds of pigeons which the set off in spirals of birds ascending upwards – quite the site !
Inside we particularly enjoyed seeing the brass zodiac sun dial and the Bartolomeo sculpture (very gruesome !)
Next up to the rooftop – where we spent an hour exploring and enjoying the winter sun ☀️
Then took a walk through the Galleria and marveled at all the fancy high-end designer shops . Stopped though to circle around 3 times on the balls of the mosaic bull – which is apparently good luck!
