Cervino

Took a very scenic drive from Chatillion up to Cervino , along the Swiss border.

The little towns we passed though were quintessential Swiss alpine villages .

We continued all the way up the Cervino ski slopes where we first had a picnic at the base.

The we commenced the 30 minutes ascent to the ski park, and stopped for a rest , some snow play, and a snooze in the sun for some.

However, at this level we did not see the toboggan run the kids were looking for, so we set off for another 20 minute hike up the mountain through ankle deep snow to get to the top area .

Here there was a highly unsafe (by Australian standards) but high octane toboggan run… so of course the kids were all over it .

Some spectacular rides … and spills ensued , including Olivia at one point getting airborne off the embankment and ending up on the neighboring run! All in good fun though.

At 4 pm as the sun started to go down, we started our slow descent down the mountain … with the kids finding lots of creative ways to speed the process up !
