Udine – Surprising gem

After a slow start we set out to explore our new location in daylight.

Lovely little streets , lots of church bells ringing and a very strong Venetian influence.

Walked down to the Piazza della Libertà to find the spectacularly ornate Loggia di Lionello.

Walked up to the castello lookout to get a Birds Eye view of the old town .

Tried to see the main Duomo (closed) but had our first-ever incident with one of those scammers/touts… he eventually gave up though, but left us a bit rattled.

Headed home early as the weather was starting to change.

Then the rain really set in , but we ventured out for dinner – more polenta and tried Frico (local fried cheese) 🧀
