Took a very scenic drive from Chatillion up to Cervino , along the Swiss border. The little towns we passed though were quintessential Swiss alpine villages . We continued all the way up the Cervino ski slopes where we first had a picnic at the base. The we commenced the 30 minutes ascent to the
Up the skyways we went today all 4600 metres above sea level to the top of the world. Fought off the altitude wobbles to brave the -5 degree temps and freezing winds for a view to die for . The a good few hours is snow play on the Pavillion level, followed by a border
What a day filled with presents, food and fun! Highlight was the gingerbread house decorating contest – girls vs boys. Boys won the presentation and creativity categories and the girls won structural integrity category , with the boys taking out the title overall by a slim margin of 60 points to the girls 57.
After a Pizza dinner , we waited for the Xmas Eve mass to start. The bella started ringing about 10:15 so we made our way up to the square. Before long a procession of carollers arrived through the streets from a town higher up the mountain – along with a sheep! We followed them and
Day 1 we stayed close to home as we were all very tired . Had a walk around this little township in the morning and then a few of us headed into Aosta – the main town near here for a look – beautiful quaint little town and the kids enjoyed more ice skating and

Breakfast , followed by a stop at the church that happens to be across the road – what a surprise to find a 3rd century treasure right under our noses ! Continued the lovely walk through the back streets of Brera to the Pinoteca gallery. Spent a good 2 hours examining all the magnificent artworks
Day 1 in Milan saw us sleep in and then set off towards the Duomo! First impressions from a block away stunned Sebastian who didn’t think it could be real – “that’s not a church, it looks like a fairytale castle”.
