Not much to be done about the weather today – plus everything we closed for public holiday, we set off on a drive to Gemona . Foggy drive to a quiet town but on the way make we ventured well off the map to find a running alpine waterfall and the most incredible colored torrents
Forget to mention… yesterday afternoon in Udine Joe and the kids went to see the fencing world championships- just happened to be on in Udine this week! Very cool.
After a slow start we set out to explore our new location in daylight. Lovely little streets , lots of church bells ringing and a very strong Venetian influence. Walked down to the Piazza della Libertà to find the spectacularly ornate Loggia di Lionello. Walked up to the castello lookout to get a Birds Eye
Started the day with a speed pack and a final breaky in the main Piazza near the arena . It was a gorgeous crisp summer day and we met up with some other cousins from Australia who are travelling in Italy at the moment as well. After a quick catch up we hit the road.
